Failure

What do you do when you've given something your all,
yet you still fail in the end,
and it seems a normal trend.

It is so easy to give up,
to throw your hands up and say "I'M DONE,
SOMEONE ELSE HAS WON AND I REFUSE TO TRY AGAIN"!

It is so easy to turn the other way and run away,
and blame someone else for your failure, rather that accept the blame,
just because you feel the shame.

Life is a game,
someone has to win and someone has to lose,
there will be shame,
there will be defeats and retreats,
THERE WILL BE FAILURES.

But don't accept failure sitting down,
grad it by the horns,
and use it as a chance for change,
not as an opportunity to run away,
or to feel self pity and shame.

Most of all,
do not view failure as a measure of your worth,
but as a chance for a new beginning,
and a happier ending.

I wish

I wish for greener trees,
I wish for cleaner seas,
Most of all, I wish for world peace.

I wish for patience,
I wish for gratefulness and gracefulness,
I wish for knowledge,
and moreover, courage.

I wish for the power to forgive and forget,
I wish to live without regret,
I wish never to have to fret,
Most of all, I wish to be able to accept death.

I wish never to hate,
nor to discriminate,
I wish to never feel lust,
I wish I could trust.

Most of all, I wish for love,
I wish to love unconditionally,
and to be loved unconditionally.

I sit here wishing,
when i realized I should be praying,
Not just saying these words,
But doing something to make these wishes come true,
I will PRAY.

Revelation

I had a revelation today,
and i am finally walking the lord's way.
I now realize the reasons its so important to pray
and say thank you for each new day.

I was so mad because i thought you took my world,
I realize now I was just a lonely girl,
looking for all the right things, in all the wrong places.
Desperately grabbing faces, looking for traces
of love, or something like it.

I realize now you are all I need, Lord.
You are my one true friend,
who will be there with me beyond the end,
holding my hand, leading me to your promise land

There you will care for me,
and love me unconditionally.

Emotional conflict

I love you!,
you are my world and so true,
I cannot live without you,
if we were through, i would be so blue.

I hate you!
I wish we never met!,
I'm filled with such regret!,
all you do is cause me to fret!.

you make me smile,
please stay for awhile,
hold me close,
don't ever let go!.

AAHH! stay away from me!,
the sight of you makes me sick!,
you're a constant thorn in my side!,
I wish you would die!.

I love you!,
I hate you!,
I want you!,
I am so sick of you!.

Oh! what am i to do?
how can i love and hate you?

I'm not sure which emotion to choose,
I'm not sure what i want to lose,
I'm not sure which emotion is stronger,
or which will last longer.

I love you!,
but I hate you!,
yet I still love you!,
but i hate you!.

I'm at constant war with myself,
I hate myself for loving you,
I love myself for hating you.

Beauty

What is beauty?

Beauty is the sight of the rising sun,
spreading its wings to wake up
the Lord's creations.

Beauty is the colourful flowers
standing at attention to the shining sun overhead
releasing their heavenly scented perfumes.

Beauty is the way the setting sun
hits the ocean top
reflecting that orange miracle
to note the end of another day

Beauty is the way the silver moon shines
complimented by the twinkling stars around it
in the endless blue velvet sky

Beauty is what you see
when you look into a mirror
and see that person smiling back at you

Beauty is looking at yourself
knowing you are special
you were fearfully and wonderfully made
for a purpose only you can fulfill

This is beauty
beyond the definition of the word
never let anyone tell you
beauty is not you

you are exactly as you were meant to be
you were created beautifully
and you are beauty

Plight of a poet

I sit here with a blank page and pen
trying to write a poem
oh, but where do I begin?

I have so many thoughts running through my head
but they all just fill me with dread

What to write about?
love?, hate?, money?, lust?,
trust?, stars?, wars?
OH! these have all been done before
now my brain is sore

I take a break
I have a Snack
now I am back to attack!

Do i write about a rainbow?
how about a shadow?
a willow?
or maybe a pillow?

AAHH! I give up!
this is too much work!
and my brain hurts!

oh well, one day i will try again
to write a lovely poem
maybe then i will know where to begin.

you said you like me
but you lied
now my heart just wants to die

we used to sit and talk for hours
you even sent me flowers

I gave you something I never gave another;
my trust

you were my dream when i was awake
I was all yours to take
But what we built was a lie
you just left without a goodbye

now my heart is broken
I sit and think of what i had spoken
now I feel like such a fool
Oh! how could you be so cruel?

Finding myself

Everyday i discover a new part of me,
what it is i really want to be.

I find myself caring more each day,
and learning how easy it is to fast and pray.

I find myself trying harder,
to strive and put my best foot forward.

I find myself laughing more each day,
and just giving smiles freely away.

I stop to think what it is now,
that was not there before,
I keep finding myself........

Wait, that's it...............,
I'm finding myself.

This is me

I may seem complicated,
but i'm not,
I surely don't ask for alot,
simply give me what you've got.

I relish in all of life's simple treasures,
they surely are life's greatest pleasures.

I take one step at a time,
this is the way I was designed.

I like to put a smile on the face,
of every creature of the human race.

I value each of God's creations,
though I sometimes lash out in frustration.

There are times when i long,
to find where it is i belong.

To be someone else,
anyone but myself.

But the Lord shows me the way,
and shows me that he cares,
He'll always be there.

I then realize; this is me,
I cannot be anyone but myself,
and He loves me for me.

Mothers

A mother's love
is like a dove
so kind and sweet
and ever so hard to defeat

a mother's kiss
is always filled with bliss
it's like a healing tonic
for whatever pains come your way

a mother's hands
so kind and gentle
always open to welcome you
regardless of what you may do

a mother is the greatest treasure
one the lord created with the greatest pleasure
mother, you are so faithful and true
i will forever love you

Fathers

Fathers!
so kind and so true
will always be there for you

with strong shoulders and arms
they will forever keep you safe from harm

they will stand against the greatest wind
and fight against the strongest flame
just to ease you pain

they would even walk a million miles
just to see you smile
even just for awhile

their hands will be hard as steel
when you do wrong
but they have to ensure you learn
the difference between right and wrong

with a love so kind and true
father what would i do without you?

Tears of pain

As i walk these hollow halls again
i taste the salty tears of pain
the love i gave was all in vain

we had hopes and dreams
yes! we were quite the team
along she came and took your heart
mine was just torn apart

somehow i always knew
she was making a fool of you
i knew she would never be true

you suffered, yet did not complain
oh we had so much to gain
i taste your salty tears of pain

though i was far, i was near
news of you i would often hear
i wished i was there
when she left you without a care

i these hallow halls you found relief
it was here you ended you grief
you found how unrequited love causes pain
i taste your salty tears of pain.

Rainy day

My favorite thought for a rainy day
is how the lord loves to play
he sends the pitter patter on the roof top
so we can hear every drop

my favorite thing to do on a rainy day
is to lay and cuddle and play
to watch the clouds dance away
leaving nothing but skies of grey

out pops a rainbow
with all its beautiful colours
to remind us of God's love which he showers
and of his promise too
which forever remains true.

When i'm weary
feeling dreary
when i long to be loved
to be treated like a dove

when you kiss me

Death

Death!
why does it hurt so much?
why does it create such a fuss
aren't they in a better place?
won't they see the maker's face?
it just means they ran at a faster pace
and have won the race
smiling.., they wait for you to complete your race
to see your shining face

you did not know they would have left so soon
you had so much to say
now your heart pines away
as you cry and pray
for a chance to say
all your unspoken words,
especially; i love you

don't worry
don't be in a hurry
for the day will come
when you see their face again
and have the chance to say
all those unspoken thoughts
all is not lost

As we lay under the stars.
we realize how insignificant we are.
how love who has evaded us.
now replaced by hate and money.
which is forever in galore.
is it truly worth your soul?
which would you desire more?


anger and love have no limits
choose the latter to have a lovely life
things are to be used
people are to be loved
trouble today is things are loved
people are used
which would you choose?
to be loved or used?


so take a stand
lend a hand
pray that the promise land
has a place for you
and for me too
